Hey everyone! Is anybody else aiming to apply for MBAs in Germany that start in 2016? Here's my shortlist:
Frankfurt School
ESMT
Mannheim
WHU
HHL Leipzig
I hope to apply for all of these but my chances will obviously depend on my GMAT score. I'm scheduled to take the GMAT for the first time in May.
Other than that I've been working on my German skills. I'm up to B1 now but hope to improve more through classes between now and 2016, plus I will take a 3-month long summer trip to Germany for some immersion. Hope to position myself for post-MBA finance jobs in the country or in Switzerland.
In any case, let's connect here if anybody else is considering an MBA in Germany in 2016!

Hi Albet
Have you considered Offenburg HS and other international consulting programs ? A fast track MBA like IBC MBA with affordable course fees may be of interest to you ?

It doesn't lead to MBA-type roles.

Sorry, I'm only really looking at programs that are either (1) ranked, or at the very least (2) accredited by an international accreditation organization like AACSB. Doesn't seem like this school falls into either of these two categories. Cost is not my main motivating factor.

I'm aiming for HHL and WHU with Mannheim as a reach, since my work experience is lower. Sort of worried about the GMAT though, have you taken any practice tests?
Posted May 18, 2015 12:48
I'm scheduled to take it next week. I've been averaging between 640 and 660 on the practice tests, if I can get that or hopefully a bit higher I'll be happy because then I'll be in the average range for ESMT, which is my number one choice.

Anybody planning on applying for the MBAs at Pforzheim or HWR Berlin for 2016?
Posted May 22, 2015 09:27
I'm applying for March 2016 intake of Pforzheim's 3 semester MBA program.
Posted May 28, 2015 12:04
What are your stats? (work experience/GMAT). Myself, I have 3 years of work experience and a 600 GMAT score. I still have time to retake the test though which I probably will do over the summer.

Hey I m planning to take mba in finance in Germany . And I m from India . So I have heard there people who aren't fluent in German don't get jobs ..?..?? Do I have good job opportunities for my course ????? And GMAT is not required for Germany right ??????

GMAT is obviously required for better schools and so is German for the jobs.

There will be very few MBA-level jobs in Germany which do not require German-language skills.
And in general, the GMAT will be required. As far as I know, the top programs in the country - ESMT, Frankfurt, Mannheim, HHL - will not waive the GMAT. Even unranked schools like Pforzheim and WHU are strict on their GMAT requirements.

Anybody know they're going to Germany? I accepted an offer for Mannheim. I am looking for any online German language resources I can start on before the fall, if anybody has any suggestions.

I am looking for an MBA in Germany but am planning on starting in 2017. In terms of online resources, you might want to check out the following:
Duolingo (I find it's great for self-paced vocab)
Memrise (also good for vocab)
Easy Languages (connect with native German tutors over Skype)
DeutschAkademie (very robust and good for grammar + vocab)

These schools have been discussed a lot in many threads here. Basically if you are looking for a job in the country after graduation, it helps to be able to speak German at a fluent level.
