Hello,
I would like some advise on choosing the best online part-time MBA university. I am a canadian, engineer, living in the UAE, and would like an MBA program 12-18months duration for a reputable university. There are a plethora of universities out there and the choices are overwhelming:
The criteria is:
- Online/distance
- 12-18months
- reputable university (at least showing on a good ranking)
- affordable (10-15,000 USD)
- Good program

My colleague recently completed an MBA in enginnering Management through Westford University (jointly with UCAM) and recommends i do so too, but i am not sure about its ranking and the program (as the programis not widely offered). He has done is through their offices in the UAE which for him made it easier for payment and communication, but doing an online from a university not located in your region does it come with complications?
If you have any comments on my colleagues reccomendation please do share them.

If there are universities recommendations that you can share please let me know.

Regards,
Sam

Search this board for Westford and UCAM. Also see the sister website, Find MBA Online. UCAM is a terrible choice, in no legitimate MBA ranking, and both a terrible reputation and none of the three accreditations you should look for. Please, do more research before you waste money and put a stain on your resume.

Look on my profile page for the article called Value alternatives to unaccredited MBAs?

Thank you Duncan, This was really helpful especially the insight on UCAM. Trying to find a good university offering an Online MBA and as your 'thread' mentions Triple accreditation is quite daunting especially with price factored in.

Any chance you can recommend a few which are Triple accredited and within price range please.

Thank you

That's easier than me cutting and pasting from there to here.

MMU and the OUBS MBA via Amity are the lowest priced triple crown MBAs. Depending on your goals, don't rule out US school with AASCB-only accredition.

Thank you,

I have read through the thread and it raises some excellent points. I got a call from my search for MBA from an organization promoting MBA from SBS Swiss Business school and Ascencia Business school (College de Paris). What is your opinion on those please?

It is not easy to be honest i have been looking for months but without sucess in finding one that i could settle on. MMU, MU, Amity, and all the ''triple accredited'' MBA to be done from UAE are over my budget. I read through the threads that have been similar to this, and I keep seeing the word affordable but when i look it up in the UAE the prices seem to be different as in higher than what is mentioned in the threads. I hope someone to pin point a few to focus on and i go on from there because i have been going in circles with this. Thank you Duncan, seeing your posts on the other thread they have been greatly helpful for the people seeking the information.

If the OU-Amity MBA is over your budget, Amity also has its own MBA, which has US regional accreditation.

Okay. I don't think you can expect good data from a site like that, whose business model is to collect leads for low-quality, for-profit schools. Use the schools' websites. Amity MBA costs 238,000 to 250,000 INR.

Hi Stuart, Thanks for the insight it looked convieniet as a websitewith multple price tags. Apart from Amity which Duncan has mentioned being US accredited. Do you know of any other universities for online 12-18months MBA which I can do from UAE (triple accredited if possible, between 10-15000 USD, reputable)?

That article Duncan mentions, Value alternatives to unaccredited MBAs, is the thing to read. AFAIK, the only triple-crown options at that price are MMU ($14,600) and the OUBS-Amity joint programme ($9,000).  The Amity-only MBA is not triple crown, but then it's $3,300.

Honestly, maybe the best idea for you right now, given all of your restraints, is to pursue some free / cheap online classes? Starting the Coursera iMBA specializations for example would give you a head start in the actual program, so you could put off the investment until a time when you could work it.

Because in all honesty if the choice is between doing nothing and one of the non-accredited options you're looking at, nothing would be preferable.

Hi 1sam3

I just saw your post and I am searching for the same school "Ascencia". I know that the degrees are accredited by the Government of France and World Education Services "WES" but I couldn't know if it is accredited by the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Exterior in UAE. Can you please inform me if you started the study in Ascencia or not yet?
Thanks

No degrees at Ascencia lead to French state degrees. All, even the so-called MS courses, lead to vocational qualifications in management.  See  https://www.ascencia-business-school.com/certifications/ . If you are looking for a real core IAE and grande ecole degrees will almost certainly lead to a state degree.

The whole notion of being "accredited by the government ". Will mislead you in France.  The Republic itself issues degrees, and private diplomas from schools (not from the republic) are less trusted.

Duncan isn't the only person here. Can others comment too? If not, maybe hire him :)

These are not accredited *as degrees* but they are certainly as accredited as a certification from any small business. I am not familiar with the online BBA market but with your budget I would either:

- start with Amity and UoP: https://www.uopeople.edu/programs/ba/degrees/business-administration-bachelor-degree/  or

- reassess my goals, options and resources.
