A Katz MBA is available in multiple formats: One-yearTwo-yearPart-timeJoint-or Dual-degree or Executive. All formats prepares students to make an immediate impact on day one, whether you're switching careers or ready for that next promotion.  Our students learn from entrepreneurial faculty. They immerse themselves in global markets. Central to their education are many Experience-Based Learning opportunities, including Consulting Field Projects, various Fellowships, Global Research Practicums and our capstone Management Simulation for full- and part-time students. We are molding a new breed of leader: an open-minded collaborator who thrives on cross-cultural teams.

Our EMBA Worldwide program prepares senior-level professionals to reach new heights in the global economy. Our EMBA students are already successful in their careers-most have an average of 14 years of work experience-and we develop their strategic vision so they can seize bold, new opportunities. EMBA students have the option of enrolling at our locations in Pittsburgh (United States) or South America (São Paulo, Brazil). The hallmarks of our program are our Global Executive Forums, where students take one week trips to each location (twice to Pittsburgh), immersing themselves in international business, and networking with their classmates.

Katz also offers several specialized Master's programs in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Management of Information Systems, and Customer Insights.  These full-time programs allow for greater specialization within rapidly growing business fields. All programs are designed for people with little to no work experience and can be completed in as few as nine-months, with only the MS in Accounting requiring any business background.

Founded in 1787, the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt) is among the oldest and most prestigious universities in the United States. The vast resources of the University are used to push the frontiers of knowledge in intellectual, economic, scientific, and social endeavors. Pitt is central to Pittsburgh's renaissance as the most livable city in the United States (Forbes, The Economist).

With an annual enrollment of 35,000 students, Pitt is a major research institution that offers more than 400 distinct degree programs through its 16 schools of study at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Its alumni and faculty include winners of the Nobel and Pulitzer prizes, as well the first scientists to synthesize insulin and develop a vaccine for polio.

The Katz MBA gives students the business agility needed to thrive in a world marked by speed and volatility. We are a truly global institution, with additional locations in South America and Europe, and our programs are consistently ranked among the best in the world by leading publications.

Katz has more than 23,000 alumni living in more than 90 countries across the globe. Established as a school within the University in 1960, Katz's roots can be traced back to the early 20th century, when Pitt was one of 16 founding members of the AACSB. Pitt's business programs and the Katz School have been continuously accredited since 1919.

The Faculty

Harnessing the intellectual capital of the University of Pittsburgh, our program is taught by professors who are internationally respected for their research and consulting. They've created a management-focused curriculum that encompasses the business concepts and analytical tools used by successful executives.

Katz faculty embrace entrepreneurship as a frame of mind. This guiding principle helps them to envision bold research questions, apply new ideas to conventional teaching methods, and take well-calculated risks. Our faculty are widely published in top-ranked research journals and provide expert opinion in leading publications, including the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Financial Times and The Economist. In addition to winning numerous external research awards, members of our faculty have been honored with the University of Pittsburgh's highest honors for their teaching, research, and service.

Located in Pennsylvania's second-largest city, the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt) is an indispensable partner to Pittsburgh's civic and economic reinvention. The city's old way of life was forged by steel. Today Pittsburgh boasts a diversified economy fueled by higher education, health care, finance, computer technology, energy, and industry, and the city has earned accolades for being the most livable in the United States (Forbes, The Economist.)

By attending Pitt, you have access to a level of cultural amenities, scenic beauty, and entrepreneurial opportunities that are second to none. At Katz, Pittsburgh isn't just our address. It defines who we are. We're proud to be educating people who can take the lessons learned in Pittsburgh to organizations of any type around the world.

For the Executive MBA program, the program has locations in both Pittsburgh, PA and São Paulo, Brazil.

Accommodation

Katz MBA students typically live in off-campus housing. Pittsburgh offers abundant affordable housing in comparison to other American cities. Many of our students live within walking distance to campus. Those who don't can ride public transit in the city free of charge with their Pitt student ID. Pittsburgh's transit system comprises a network of buses, subway/light rail, and inclines.

Katz EMBA students don't all live in Western Pennsylvania. Students commute from their homes in Columbus and Cleveland, Ohio; Harrisburg and Philadelphia, Pa.; Buffalo, N.Y.; Washington, D.C. and many other locations in the Eastern U.S.  Katz EMBA students often carpool to Pittsburgh.

Although many of our EMBA students stay in nearby hotels, fellow students have been known to graciously host those traveling in from out of town for class.

Student Life

Katz is home to more than a dozen student clubs and organizations-everything from the finance club to photography. Our students practice their leadership skills and make new friendships by getting involved. You're also able to create your own club as a student.

Katz students are involved in community service projects throughout the year. They volunteer their time and talents to clean up the community, feed and clothe the needy, and raise money to help find a cure for cancer.
