International MBA (IMBA) facts

Full Profile

The Program

The IMBA is a full-time 1-year program that starts each September and is based on the Paris campus. The curriculum lays a strong foundation of theoretical knowledge, which participants will learn to apply in various practical contexts. Candidates can tailor the program to their interests through a range of electives. A business plan is mandatory and candidates can then complete the program with an internship, a consulting project, or a thesis. The Talent Program supports candidates throughout their program in small groups or with personal coaching to not only find their first post-IMBA position, but how to manage their career.  With a diverse range of international participants candidates will have worldwide contacts and a global perspective. There are scholarships available for up to 50% tuition-reduction, which are automatically assessed with each application.

The Business School

IÉSEG has a strong international mind set, notably seen in its partnerships with 281 universities in 69 countries, and the fact that over 81% of its permanent professors have multicultural backgrounds and experience. The School is made up of nearly 5150 students, 2270 of whom come from outside of France, who have opportunities for international exchanges and internships to enhance their experience at IÉSEG. The School has built solid relationships with over 2500 companies and all students, from bachelor level through masters, can gain work experience through internships.

The Faculty

The IMBA faculty is ranked first in France for the number of international professors with a doctorate. Over 80% of the IÉSEG faculty is international and very active in their respective areas of research. The faculty is a mix of both internal and external faculty from both academic and professional backgrounds. Above all, the IMBA faculty is passionate about teaching and providing support to participants so that they can achieve their full potential.

Entry Requirements

Candidates accepted into the IMBA come from a wide range of business backgrounds. IESEG accepts talented candidates who have at least 3 years of work experience and a strong academic background. A GMAT score is not required, but preferred, and would be considered favorably. Applicants should be committed, open-minded while demonstrating substantial potential for leadership and excellence.

Application Procedure

Admission is via an online application at https://application.ieseg.fr/ and review of the supporting documents. Qualified students will be contacted for an interview. Rolling admission is offered to selected students until the end of May (non-EU) and the end of June (EU) with specific dates available when the platform opens in October. These must be provided: copy of your degree and transcripts (translated if not in English or French), a copy of your passport, CV, English proficiency test for non-native English speakers (IELTS, TOEFL, IBT, TOEIC) although students whose bachelor degree is in English are exempt, and an 80 € application fee.

Tuition and Fees

The total fee for the IMBA program is 24,000 € with scholarship opportunities to reduce the tuition by up to 50%. A non-refundable deposit of 1600 euros guarantees a place in the program. The remaining tuition can be split in half and paid in two installments (September and January).

Financial Aid

IÉSEG has a merit-based International Scholarship Program with a tuition waiver of 15% to 50% per year. Selection is based on the applicant’s previous academic performance and overall application portfolio. The scholarship application is automatic; students do not need to apply separately.

All international students are encouraged to check with Campus France and their own government to see if there are any scholarships available. For American students please check with Sallie Mae for private loan options. For further information on financial aid please click on IESEG’s website under "Prospective Students".

The International MBA program is based at Paris – La Défense, which is the largest business district in Europe. There are 1,500 companies including 15 of the top 50 multinationals and 14 of the top 20 French companies. Despite its size La Défense is also a leader in sustainability. A world leader for tourism Paris constantly ranks high on international lists for top student cities with its culture, history, and joie-de-vivre!

IESEG has dedicated housing staff who help students find accommodation in residences or through private landlords. Expect to pay a minimum of 500 € per month for a room in shared accommodation and approximately 800 € for a studio.

Student Life

The 1-year IMBA program is an intensive program; however, students can also take advantage of living in the City of Lights. On campus, students have an opportunity to join different types of student associations at IESEG, including the International Club. Outside of school Paris is an international hub for theatre, music, festivals, and the travel opportunities are numerous. Networking opportunities are frequent since guest speakers frequently give lectures on campus.

Pre-MBA Course

There is a 2-week period where all students will take courses such as Quantitative Methods, Optimized Use of Excel, Accounting Basics, Learning with Cases, and Academic Research and Writing. This is to ensure that despite a range of backgrounds the class will start with the same basic level of competencies and help them succeed in their other courses.
