Where else are you applying to? Why no try for a higher ranked school?

Good luck with other applications and interviews. Definitely interested to hear where else you're applying. To mention some things that has struck be about Aston are a) It is triple accredited and b) its has a strong focus on leadership, innovation and business ethics and is one of the few business schools to offer these courses in compulsory modules.

All the best. Aston is a good B-School.

I like this about it as well. There's a required "Business, Ethics and Responsibility" core module for the MBA program - which makes me think that this is more than just a nod to a current trend.
And speaking of which - has anybody looked into Aston's MSc in Social Responsibility and Sustainability? That looks pretty interesting.

I have received an unconditional offer to study at Aston as well. Beyond thinking students have unrealistic expectations from "brand-name" universities, is Aston a good school, how close are they to potential employers and what are the opportunities for international students with an Aston degree post MBA....that's what I'm interested in finding out

I see at http://www1.aston.ac.uk/aston-business-school/programmes/aston-mba/career-and-personal-development/ that there's no detailled placement report from Aston. That's normally a sign of weak outcomes. If you look here http://www.businessweek.com/bschools/rankings/full_time_mba_profiles/aston.html and scroll down you can see typical outcomes. 2 in 5 students work in Europe after graduating: not bad considering that 93% are non-European.
