School search in Europe for MBA Fulltime 1 yr program

Hello,

In Spain IESE, ESADE and EADA are the best choices. I must admit that I don not know the school you have mentioned.

Best,
JL

Don't forget IE, considered by most the number one in Spain!

If you are looking for the best PLACE in Europe, Barcelona can certainly compete. There has been quite a buzz around this city, pleasantly located on the seaside, many foreigners are living there now.
But for best European MBAs, it is not as simple, look, the best Spanish one IE already is in Madrid... Also an MBA is too much of an investment in time and money to base your decision on the location only, you should integrate other countries in your list, UK, France etc, as mentioned in the posts before.
But its true, in Barcelona you have a choice of good MBAs:
IESE, ESADE (cf the important international rankings) and also also EADA.
Better forget the others! no one outside of Spain will have heard of them, a waste of time.
This is not true if you are Spanish and intend to do your career in Spain, Spanish recruiters might relate to other institutions also.

I agree with all of the above. Having spent a lot of time there I can vouch for the fact that Barcelona is a great city. That's not to say that Madrid isn't - I've spent, and could still spend, a lot of time there also - but Catalunya and Castille are very, very different places. As far as choosing institutions goes, I understand that location is an important consideration. I have say, there are some institutions I simply wouldn't go to on account of where they are, but of those mentioned above, it would hard to argue with Barcelona, Madrid, London (or one or two other UK cities), Paris. And, with some reservations, based more on the profile of individual schools and MBA courses rather than location, I would also add Germany and Italy to your list. And who can forget the Swiss?

I certainly can't.

An earlier commenter refers to MBA Channel as a references for problems in ESMT's image. Looking on that website, the only article referring to ESMT is about scholarships. Unless there are serious references, I would say that the strong, outstanding employment record of ESMT graduates shows that it is a strong school generally similar to other top MBAs in Germany. It's disadvantage is that it's small, but since few German universities ave really active MBA networks that is less of a disadvantage. However, it's outside the top 50 worldwide.

PS There's one really outstanding programme in Europe on marketing analysis, the area in which this person is focussed, but it's not an MBA: http://www.mma.ugent.be/ It's *very* selective, more selective than any top MBA programme in Europe, but the industry sponsorship and recruitment connections are very strong.

it costs less than 1000e .... and it's about IT/marketing/CRM, 3 fields that I know very well.

Very interesting ... maybe for my career it would be better than an online MBA

Employers just suck up the graduates. You can see from the blog, and the programme, how the students are really well prepared. Ghent is a great town and, of course, the university's Vlerick school also draws employers there.

Yes, I saw the blog.
This is something that I might try ... (I wonder what does the GMAT needs since they require TOEFL and this hard math/stats text! Math questions in GMAT are quite easy and verbal are easier than TOEFL .... )

Well, the GMAT is an adaptive test: if you get the easy questions right then it gives you harder questions. Plus the GMAT also gives a great idea of people's ability to work quickly.
