The Program

The business world is currently experiencing a period of unprecedented transformation. To remain competitive, companies need to think well beyond the scope of standard business models to address world-scale social, environmental, political and economic challenges.

Success in today’s rapidly changing and complex global business environment requires a unique set of skills and knowledge. The Oxford Saïd MBA prepares future business leaders to understand and respond to world-scale problems. We teach our students to see the big picture and to appreciate the implications and opportunities for organisations and new enterprises.

The MBA provides a solid grounding in the major business disciplines and core business skills with eight core modules in fundamental business areas, a selection of seven to nine electives and projects.

The Oxford Saïd MBA class is a truly diverse mix of extraordinary individuals from dozens of countries and all kind of backgrounds. Whether they are working as White House Fellows, opening up post-Soviet states to foreign trade and investment, or changing the social networking space in China, our alumni and students are rewriting the rules of the game. The diversity of every class translates into our alumni taking up varied positions in areas such as:

The University

Saïd Business School at Oxford University blends the best of new and old. We are a young, vibrant and innovative business school deeply embedded in an 800 year old world-class university.

We create programmes and ideas that have global impact. We educate people for successful business careers, and as a community seek to tackle world-scale problems. We deliver cutting-edge programmes and ground-breaking research that transform individuals, organisations, business practice and society. We seek to be a world-class business school community, embedded in a world-class university, tackling world-scale problems.

For over eight centuries, leaders from across the world, and from all spheres, have come to Oxford to study, to intellectually recharge and to engage in important discussions. The remarkable community at the School continues this tradition. Our community of academics, students, alumni, staff and friends is truly global and has representatives from all over the world and from different sectors. We enrich our perspective and impact through the convening power of Oxford which brings heads of state, CEOs, Nobel laureates, brilliant young scholars, social entrepreneurs, senior policy makers, inventors and corporate recruiters and many more to Oxford.

Harnessing the Oxford advantage

We are not just "at" Oxford, but an integral part of Oxford University. Compared with other business schools that are not part of a university, or one affiliated in name only, we are embedded within Oxford University. You will see this often when you are sitting at a College dinner next to someone who studies history and you are explaining business to them, or in lectures, classes, or our online problem solving environment and you're listening to, and engaging with, an expert in law, economics, sociology, international relations, politics or health.

Our embeddedness within the University of Oxford can be seen in both formal and informal ways. Our successful programmes run with the Economics and Law faculties, and with the Oxford Man Institute, which bring together researchers from business, economics, maths and computer science is one example of formal collaboration.

World-scale impact

Ultimately, business schools have to produce powerful ideas, deliver transformative education and reach out to the broader world. Oxford's unique history and tradition enable us to do all three. The convening power of the University enables us to bring together leaders to address major topics at the interface of business, government and society.
