Regarding the work xperience, US schools are not so demanding, but you have to look up the regulations for each school individually.

There is no "average expenses" I'm afraid. Tuition varies termendously from one program to the other, living costs are different also, depending on of you chose NY, LA or somewhere lost in the countryside..

I am Santosh, an Bachelors of Commerce (B. Com) 3 year course + Chartered Accountant (ACA). Have 2.5 years of experience in Finance in Top US Investment Bank in India & Singapore. I plan to do my MBA in 2009. By that time i would have had 4 years of Experience. and expecting around 690-710 GMAT score.

In my opinion, these are the best 1-year MBA programs in the US, no doubt. But I'm sure a lot will disagree, though.

1. Emory University - Well, Atlanta is a cool place, and Emory is a historic university. Its business school, Goizueta, is very highly ranked in the US.
2. University of Florida - Great college town (Gainesville), well-ranked MBA program, and lots of parties (football, basketball, and just around town).
3. University of Pittsburgh - Reputable university, nice city.

I´m also looking for 1Y MBA in US. I would like to do the marketing management or management/strategy one. Do u have any tips? I´m looking for a very good one, however I have unfortunately no econ.edu. ...atleast have one year now to do the self study and then preMBA. What´s your oppinion? I have MA from the faculty of law in Czech Republic. I have w.e., mostly short but from several countries (GE, USA, CR). Some complications I found so far:
- if I send my l.of r. now and decide to apply next year or if I apply and I fail, would they keep the letters for me or do I have to bother the recomandator within few montsh again?
- how is it? Will the send me/him a form or does he have to do it only per mail or can he just write it and send on the adress of the MBA programm? (I mean, one of my rec. is the highly inteligente but computer-incompatible person :) ) His rec. is very important for me but I can barely imagine him writing it per e-mail!
- I didn´t do Bc. We went straight for MA. I have passed all the state exams but I waited with writing my disertation till MBA one day, as I can use this experience for the disertation very well. I guess they wont let me apply before I´m happy with the disertation, right? Im international student and on one Uni they had info for German students (very similar system to CR) that it´s ok as soon as they have all state exams. ...So what???
:) I love MBA for being such a paper mess...

Well, you'd be missing out on some of the biggest benefits of business school - the networks and the business schools' connections to national/local companies.

And of course, you might face some reputation issues if you don't go to an immediately recognizable Aussie b-school (Melbourne or AGSM). Perhaps many US companies won't have had heard of many Australian schools, nor have experiences recruiting from these schools.
