Supply Chain - How reliable are concentration-specific MBA rankings?

luccc_f

I'm looking into MBA programs in Supply Chain Management, but given that many have emphasized how unimportant concentration can be, is there really much weight to concentration-specific MBA rankings?

For example: https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-business-schools/logistics-rankings and https://www.topuniversities.com/business-masters-rankings/supply-chain-management

Or is it best to focus on the best ranked MBA programs that happen to offer a concentration in said area?

Thanks.

The US News subject rankings "are based solely on ratings by business school deans and directors of AACSB-accredited MBA programs". That seems like a good guide for PhD applicants but it's not very meaningful if you have a non-academic career goal. The QS ranking is a pretty good guide to MSc degrees, but [a] you seem to be focussed on an MBA and its criteria might not matter to you. Also, these schools are not fungible: WU is a great school for the Viennese job market, but if you don't speak German, maybe that's not a great school. So, start with your goals in mind and find the best available school for your goal.

Oh I didn't know that about the US News rankings. That makes the rankings pretty irrelevant for most people. Thanks for the tips and insights!
