Southampton or Sheffield FT MBA?

Based on only 3 years work experiences in IT sector and no economic background, I would like to apply for two years full-time MBA program (including 9 months preliminary course) in Birmingham 2011 intake. Is it really worth taking 9 months long preliminary course? Does anybody have any comment for this?

Hi,
I would not suggest opting 2 years FT course as it will add up your over all cost and also the opportunity cost for 2 years. If you stay away from industry for 24 months then you will loose your track in your Industry.
On the other hand if you look 12 months program then after 12 months you will get an MBA degree which will be equivalent to your 2 years degree. but in this case you can start earning just after 12 months

Hi Mamit,

Thanks for your kindly comment. I have just received an offer from The University of Southampton for one year FT program. Do you know the quality of their MBA program?

Soton FT MBA is AMBA accredited. It appears in Economist 2010 MBA ranking, but does not rank Top 100. Does anybody give me some advice?

BTW: No GMAT. I plan to do consultant after graduation.
