Hi All,
I have 10+ years of experience in Project Management Coordination/Administration with PMP certification. I wish to go for an higher studies in Project Management to get into Project/Program Manager/Director Position. I am bit confused on what I should study to get in there, MSc, MBA or EMBA and which universities in UK. Could you help me to decide? Thanks.

I'm not sure that a masters degree would give you a higher degree of knowledge in project management than the PMP qualification. If you want to stay in project management, then a part-time course makes sense. Perhaps the Said executive masters http://www.sbs.ox.ac.uk/programmes/degrees/mpm The Cranfield programme is excellent, it's focussed on defence but the learning is generic in its applicability http://www.som.cranfield.ac.uk/som/p642/Programmes-and-Executive-Development/MSc/Programme-and-Project-Management Warwick is strong for manufacturing http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/wmg/education/prof-ed/openprogs/post_grad/ppm/
I think an EMBA would prepare you to move out of PM and into general management.

Thanks much Duncan. Is there any full time course in UK in PM?. Presently, I live in India.

Yes: try http://www.best-masters.com/ranking-master-engineering-and-project-management-in-western-europe.html and http://www.mastersportal.eu/search/?q=ci-30|de-fulltime|kw-%22project+management%22|lv-master||e05727a8
I don't think the Imperial programme is running at the moment.

Dear Duncan,
My application to Warwich, Cranfield and Lancaster University is got rejected for MSc Project Management Programme, since I do not have very high score in my Graduate Degree.
Could you please suggest me any other Universities for MSc Project Management Programme?
Thank you very much.

If you're fine with a business school outside of the UK Skema is worth considering. It is well-known for project management and has good ties with the likes of PMI. I believe that Rodney Turner, (former) head of the Phd programme, is one of the founders of the international journal of project management.

Skema is a good choice. Of course I already suggested these schools as well: http://www.best-masters.com/ranking-master-engineering-and-project-management-in-western-europe.html

I would agree that the Skema program looks good. However, if you think that your low performance in your undergraduate or graduate studies might hurt you here too, you might want to consider taking the GMAT or GRE: although this program does not require either, they state on their program website that they will "be to the candidate's advantage," and might make them more comfortable that you will be capable of handling the academic workload.

Thanks Ezra for your comment.
I guess going for GMAT or GRE will take time, since I wish to join in September 2014 in take. I am betting on my 10+ years of experience in project management, that they will give some weightage for that.
Whilst, I am also worried that being a NON-EU person, what are the prospects of getting job in France after the course completion.
How about Msc Project Management from Manchester University or City University London? Are they worth considering?

Of course, taking the GMAT is your choice; I was just suggesting it as a way to mitigate your poor undergraduate performance, which you said is a weak spot on your application.
As for finding a job in Europe after graduation, check with the schools about placements. Given your work experience, you'd have better luck with an MBA program like HEC Paris', which is rated by the FT as one of the top MBA programs for international mobility in the world. (Also keep in mind that MSc programs are usually designed for students with little to no work experience.)
Good luck to you.

SKEMA Msc PPM course Director asked me not to join the program. He says I m too old and experienced. He added that I will not get much benefit out from the program. What shall I do now?

Better schools higher up the ranking? Ask the Skema guy to make the calls ;-)

Duncan,
Sorry, I just did not get the point...

Perhaps you should consider some betters schools, ones which are higher up in the ranking. Since Skema has put you in an inconvenient position unexpectedly, you would reasonably ask them to assist you in finding a better place by making phone calls recommending you to a few of those schools.

All right. Thanks Duncan.
Let me check again that best masters ranking for project management.

I find it a bit unprofessional that they would offer you admission and then go back on the offer. If you really want to get into the program, you might push back a bit, and explain why it would be good for you. Maybe they don't understand your motivations?
