I am planning to pursue an MBA in UK, in September 2015. I am based in India currently and have a M.S (First class with distinction - 8.6 CGPA) plus 3 years of work experience in the Regulatory Operation Outsourcing Firm. I am interested in moving into a management/business consultant role.

I have offers from Durham,Bradford,Newcastle,Robert Gordon, University of Stirling still waiting for Strathclyde. Kindly let me know about your opinions which offer to select.

Isn't Durham the obvious choice from all of these schools (other than Strathclyde)? If you want to return to India straight away, then perhaps Bradford has a better network.

From your list, certainly Strathclyde (See Best schools for international students' placement http://www.find-mba.com/board/41143 ). But if you want to work in the UK then get into a better school after taking the GMAT. Bath and Lancaster could be a good fit.

Strathclyde remains the better of the UK schools, but Macquarie is higher ranked and has a higher salary.

Durham full-time MBA is completely academic. The professors only value academic work, so you will leave the course a very good academic writer. The staff is very bias, therefore those that treat them very well will receive special treatment. Also career services is non-existent. From the day you get there, you are on your own, the school makes no connections, they do not even use their Alumni database to help their students find jobs.

I don't think this view is quite up-to-date, at least about the full-time MBA, but students have made these points about the Global MBA. I've spoken to Durham myself, and have seen them hire careers strategists, so I know there is a big improvement in the last few years there which is reflected in the most recent ranking's 10% increase in salaries. The boardroom exercise, which I think is unique to the Durham MBA in the UK at least, is also a stong leadership element.

But if you want a school that encourages students to mine the alumni database to find jobs.... well I have no idea where in the UK you would find a school that would train its students to not make a mess of that.

I am not familiar with it, but that is amazing for KEDGE to get an a joint programme with such a great university. I am skeptical about two points in the brochure: the claim that there is demand for European managers in Korea, and the fact that there are no Korean language classes during the core courses in France. See: Do you need to speak the local language? www.find-mba.com/board/34713

I think that if you already speak the business language of the target country, and if your target country is either Korea, France or some other country in which you have a good professional network, then this looks like fascinating value for money. At this price, however, I doubt that you'll get the sort of leadership development and soft skills training of a top MBA. The cohort in KEDGE will be an MSc group, I guess. It certainly helps KU to get more diversity, and I imagine that this will be a rare opportunity for students looking at schools like KEDGE to get an MBA from one of the world's most selective and respected universities.
