Profile Evaluation

mba@123

Hello Team,

Please help to evaluate my profile and give suggestion. I am looking for part time mba. But, my Gmat score is very low - 570 (Q-41, V-27). I am a software engineer (female) working in USA on work visa for 2 years now. Below are additional details:

Work Experience : 80 months
International Work Experience : 37 months
Studies : Bachelor Of Engineering (Computer Science)

I was looking to do part time mba from top colleges like berkeley, UCLA, Chicago Booth etc. Please advise how to go about it. Shall I retake Gmat? (I think I can still improve my Quant as in practice test I used to get Q48/V30-34), Or As I have less time for round 2 applications, shall I just hit with 570. Please advice.

Many Thanks!!!

You mentioned work visa. If you are coming from an over represented community like India or China, then with your current situation you can kiss UCLA, Booth good bye.

Should you retake the GMAT? Absolutely! it will be a place to start. If your career has progression and managerial experience or budget responsibility then make sure to highlight those in your essays. Any extra curricular experience would also help show other aspects of your personality.

But if you are just like thousands of other students dreaming of Booth, with a 570 you are realistically looking at DePaul or IIT Stuart

Thank you for reply..Big Help!!! Yes, I am from India and currently on work visa. Thus, aiming for part time MBA. I will consider taking the Gmat exam soon but as round two deadline is really close wanted to check if i have a chance with this score. But, realistically Is UCLA a possibility at 570 in round 2? What about Northwestern University (Kellogg) ?

My sincere apologies, you mentioned part-time MBA twice yet I missed it. My post was in response of a full-time MBA - so kindly ignore it.

I would say the UCLA part-time program would be a bit of a reach - the current class profile has a range of between 620-730, well over 570.
