MIT vs. top five schools

How do you think MIT is considered vs. top five schools such as Kellogg, Harvard, Wharton? I'd like to break into management consulting and will apply to the top schools, but wonder if I should also apply to MIT as a safety. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
