If you have solution for these questions.......then you could decide............
1.Interested to look diversified fields.......from Mktg to Strategy,Fin etc...?
2.By doing a Msc in Mktg am I going to gain any new stuff which I never come accrossed in my 8+exp ?
3.Am I interested to get over all knowledge starting from admin to all wings of an organization or willing to be strong in one specific area?
4.By doing an MBA will my job roles going to change?
5.Or am I seeking a degree just to get settled in abroad?
6.Which will take me to top of the organization ladder?
7.Am I linking my UG to PG?

These questions should be answered becoz MBA and Msc in Mktg is totally different. In fact most of the univ in UK offer a generic MBA irrespective of your electives....Only a few offers say... MBA in Energy mgmt etc......In India you will get as you like but not in case of UK..
If you refer the syllabus of MBA you will see only one compulsary paper for MKTG.Rest depends upon electives. But in Msc it is vice versa...You will be studying only Mktg and few allied papers.......

Check with your colleagues..Who is sitting on hot seat and check his back ground.

Correct me if I am wrong..........

Thanks for ur reply.

Personally, my want to study again, came from a need to get a more indepth focussed understanding of my subject better, and to specialise in one field and hence I am researching an Msc in Marketing.

The reason I was confused about an MBA was that a lot of discussions seem to be around that, that only an MBA is worthwhile at this stage etc.

Thanks for ur reply.

Good Meghna.....It is true that MBA is hot when compared to Msc.......Don't you have an idea on doing MBA with electives on Marketing?Think plenty of times......If you are very keen on Msc then I would suggest to do your Msc in top B-schools,so that your selling capacity will be good. All the best

Well, things are opening up as I continue digging.

Earlier, I was more keen on singapore, however, as u rightly said, the good Msc's seem to be far more prevalent in the UK (with some of the better ranked uni.s) so yes, that's what it seems to be narrowing down to.

Thanks again.

Singapore is also a right option.......At present opportunities are good compared to UK.More over degrees offered in Singapore are UK university certificates...(Tie up with UK univ)...So you will enjoy all luxury what you will be getting by doing in UK........You will get the same IGS options.......HSMP.....etc.....

I agree, however the only decent degrees with Msc Marketing that I could find in Singapore were the Heriot Watt Msc (at EASB), the others not really working out for my profile. It's obviosuly a far more MBA centric market with NUS/NTU and INSEAD all focussing on EMBA'S whereas all well ranked Uni's in the UK are offering Mktng centric Masters.
