i am from India. Can you tell me how is Abertay Dundee and what is the chance of getting a job after doing MBA from there in Scotland or UK.

anamika, i have done some reading. thinking abertay dundee might be a good program but it is not yet a member of AMBA, which is the benchmark criterion for being considered among the best business schools in the UK. they do have some nice options for duration of study and subject fields. getting a job as a foreigner is tough here in the UK now, but an mba from a good program should give you an advantage and some good personal contacts - which I happen to think are essential for getting a good job as a foreigner. good luck.

better? I dunno. Edinburgh beats Strathclyde in Financial Times and Economists ratings if that means anything to you. what do u mean by employment rate? economist has some figures on their website, but not employment rank. FT ranks Edinburgh's "placement at 3 months rank" and "placement sucess rank", but not for Strath, who did not make the top 100.

Thanks for your replies guys. But if you consider StrathClyde, its triple accredited and is in the top 50 business school around world by UK gov. for HSMP. So its worth thinking of StrathClyde, but reality may differ. So can you guys ping your network/friends who can throw real scenario prevailing at Edinburgh and StrathClyde and help to know which one is better.

I have seen the rankings of Times, FT, EIU , Wall Street Journal....from 2000 to current year rankings. Many other Rankings I have gone through that list european business schools in them....Yes, Business Week too, from 1988. I have had a talk with the ditor of Financial times as well regarding both these Schools.
I myself have an ofeer for both these Schools. Not for MBA but MSC course. I think I have resesarched for MBA programms as well in Europe alonger MSCs. I might have seen more than 10 different Rankings of the world Business Schools MBA. Additionally , I have been to many different forums through Google and have had the views of many aluminus of Scotland B-schools from the past one n half years.
I have offers for MSC International Marketing in Strathclyde. Department of Marketing of strathclyde is the largest in the whole europe and one of the oldest. Highly acclaimed too in the world. On the other hand I have an offer from Edinburgh`s MSC (International) Managemnt. Edinburgh is considered to be a better brand/goodwill/reputaion than Strathclyde if one is to comp[are both the universities.
Choosing a course here is a problem for me. Strathclyde `s Marketing course will have internship and diseertation whereas Edinburgh will have a dissertation.
If I were to compare their MBA then I would have surely gone to Edinburgh. On the HSMP list Imperial, Lancaster, Henley`s MBA are also not listed. Edinburgh being in Scotland in itself enjoys a 2 year work permit. I feel if one does his/her MBA from such reputed/branded schools one will definitely be allowed to move out to Europe thereafter.
Else...everyone has his own view....but here I am stuck too. Can neone give his set of views too on the abovesaid 2 courses I`ve applied ....if not, nethin related....please.
Give sum get sum....
Thanks.
disconnect.
