Although its quite late for the applications but I had waiting for my GMAT and IELTS scores. I want to take up September session itself. Scored 570 in GMAT and band 8.0 in IELTS.
Have 2 years and 8 months of work-experience with good extra-curricular. Could you please suggest some good ranked business schools that are yet open for the admissions. My budget is not high and can spend only 19k-20k GBP.
Your suggestions would be highly welcomed.

Rohan

Hello Duncan, it is great to see your reply. Many thanks for providing me with the options.
It will be really appreciable if you can provide your recommendation based on their recognition level among the employers.
In fact, I am open to other programs in Europe as well, provided they yield me a better ROI.
Thanks and regards,
Rohan

Hi Rohan,
I would also add University of Pisa to the list I gave earlier.
To be honest, if you apply at the last minute with a low GMAT and below-average work experience you will find it hard to get into an MBA for September that has a high level of recognition with employers.
I'm not really sure about the regions or industries you want to work with, but I would rank them like this:
High - Brunel, Kingston, Oxford Brookes, Southampton, Surrey (These are all AMBA accredited)
Medium - Dundee, Heriot-Watt, University of Pisa, Skema, and UEA
Low - GCU London, Geneva-ESC Chambèry, Hertfordshire.
Most of these programmes also have entry points in the Spring. You would be much better off taking extra months to improve your GMAT and apply for entry in the Spring if that means you can get into a accredited MBA.

Thanks Duncan. I totally agree with you. But I had some technical network issues with my GMAT exam and it did not get saved, for which I had to reappear now.
Do you have any idea about University of Aberystwyth ?
I have received an offer from them and it looks pretty nice and economical considering the fact that it is AMBA accredited. But I have no idea about its reputation in UK and overseas. Could you please guide me on that as well ?
Many thanks in advance.

Well it's a okay university, but it's a very long way from anywhere. I don't think they would have strong relationships with employers.

Yes, even I think so. It is quite serene and peaceful place, but it may be hard to seek employment opportunities from there. And even I was not able to find much information about there placement statistics.
Anyways, if I get any further information I will definitely share with you and all the supportive people here in this forum.

Hello Duncan,
Just returning back to this forum after a year and wanted to thank everyone who helped me last year. Having gone through the above discussion, you may be a little surprised to hear that I somehow secured an admission into Bradford University at the last moment.
In fact, I was able to secure admission into these-
Maastricht University, Netherlands
EDHEC - 2011, France,
Bradford - 2011, UK
Strathclyde - 2011, UK
McGill - 2012, Canada
.....and few more
It came as a surprise to me where I actually secured a scholarship in Bradford even after the dates had passed. I was the only one from my entire batch to get a scholarship. Despite my low experience and GMAT score, I feel it was my overall profile (extracurricular + social activities) that made the difference.
Turned out to be a wise decision. Have seen some more curriculums but I really feel that Bradford MBA is second to none. In fact it is a very strong course with a solid alumni base and international reputation.
Some of my friends and Mamit (a person I found through this forum only), kept motivating me to keep applying to good schools and not to compromise at the last moment. Luck just favoured me and somehow I landed at Bradford. Completed my graduation 5 days back and thought to share my experience with the community here.
Best regards,
Rohan Agrawal

Thank you Ezra.
I would simply recommend to keep applying. You never know what aspect of your profile might fetch you a good college.
From all these experiences, I just came to know one thing......Your overall profile matters. Although GMAT, IELTS etc are important parameters, but I don't think any school will deny an outstanding profile just because of average score.
I attended few seminars from some of the top-10 FT business schools and they too highlighted that excellence is the key. If you have been a pioneer in your field, GMAT scores will be pushed to the second position.
So, again I would say, if you aren't satisfied- Hold whatever offers you have and keep applying till the last moment. Approach authorities through direct communication if required. But the last moment should be decided intelligently so that one does not loose out the entire year.

Again I would like thank Mamit for his help, since he was the one who did personal follow-ups for my profile.
