MBA - Change job function

I have 5 years of experience in IT, primarily in the banking sector. I'm considering shifting to operations or supply chain roles after completing my MBA. Given my background, will it be challenging to transition to a new function? Or should I continue in a tech-related field post-MBA?

Operations and supply chain roles largely *are* tech-related roles. I would imagine that you could transition into those industries via IT, or take an MBA for faster acceleration. Depending on what you want to do in operations or supply chain, I don't think this is a challenging transition unless you also want rapid progression. I would also look at programmes in the MIT SCALE consortium.

Interesting. Hadn't really looked at it this way but it makes sense. I'm checking out the MIT SCALE programmes you pointed out, thanks for the tip.
