Marketing MA or MBA?

jenlee

I am going to have my master course of marketing in 2015, and want to have work experience in London after graduation.
I am enrolled by two universities as below:
University of Westminster - Marketing and Communications MA
Coventry University London campus - International marketing MBA
Which one is good for my choice?

University of Westminster seems have attractive programmes. However, so far as I know that Westminster is good at Fashion and Media but seems to have bad ranking overall, so I am wondering how is its reputation in UK? Does its reputation affect my career?

Coventry London campus seems has good rank. I thought studying MBA usually need to have experience, but its MBA doesn't required any work experience. I read some pervious discussions that indicate fresher MBA is not good for finding job in UK.

Both of them provide internship which interests me. In addition, Birkbeck(International marketing Msc) haven't reply me yet

If you have any opinion, please share with me, many thanks!

Is there a ranking that includes Coventry London? How surprising. Many of the top schools with MSc degrees in management (http://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolrankings/masters-in-management-2014) in London also have degrees in marketing, most obviously ESCP Europe and Imperial. Do either of the former polytechnics you mentioned actually claim to be able to place most of their non-EU students into work in the UK?!?

The Imperial MSc in Strategic Marketing would be a great choice. Cass also has a good MSc in Marketing Strategy and Innovation. Manchester might also be an option.

In general, stick with a school that's accredited by AACSB, AMBA, or EQUIS. No reputable MBA program will recruit a candidate without work experience, so you'll have to do an MSc. I doubt the Westminster program you're looking at will be a good choice if you want to work in the UK; maybe you should ask them directly if this is something to even be reasonably expected.

Wow. The Cass MSc in Marketing Strategy and Innovation looks amazing. Great to see a UK school *teaching* in the third term. http://www.cass.city.ac.uk/courses/masters/courses/marketing#courses-details=1
