I'm CIMA qualified and work in a senior finance role for a large healthcare body. It sounds like you'll be better off with a general MBA with the ability to specialise in electives. Bearing in mind you won't want to do advanced quantitative analysis (banking) and you already have an accounting qualification.

I would be careful about saying finance for an MNC and consultancy (McKinsey, Bain, Big 4), these are VERY different and will require different focuses.

Given cost is a key issue, Lancaster, Durham or Edinburgh would best suit you. The others are +£20k. I chose Manchester (Got admitted to MBS, Warwick, Lancaster), but was being sponsored, so cost not as big of an issue.

What is your current background? This may help/hinder the choise?

if you are looking for finance and consultancy and you have to pick from Warwick, Lancaster, Aston and Durham,Cranfield .I can say that aston,warwick and cranfield will be good for you.Choice is yours.Talking about specialities i have metioned about it above .Lancater and Durham are both good bs as you are are going for a cheap bs according to it lancater is best and it will wins the race anyday check out its ranking in ft or forbes though it will not be good in any specific subjects or specialities as we say at the same time it dosent means that its not a good bschool same applies for durham also.Well i will sugest you to go to the websites of mentioned bs and check out the course,content,module and if possible try to contact with alumni of that particular course then decide as it dosent depend much on bs which are mentioned as they are on the same leauge it depend what you need and what are you getting out of it.

8yrs experience(by sept 2011) as an auditor in the financial services unit of a Big 4 firm, ACCA qualified. I think I've had enough of auditing and would like a senior finance role in a multinational or management consultancy...that's why i was asking about BS that specialise in those areas i.e finance and consultancy.

Thanks a lot for your input. I'd definitely look into these business schools. I noticed you didn't mention Warwick again...not good for any of those?was told it was good for consultancy.
Aston as a university is not well known is it? i learnt it was formally a polytechnic that was upgraded to a university hence the low ranking as a university so i was surprised that it's business school is that well ranked. What's the outlook of employers towards this school.
