Which MiM to choose

Maval

Hi! So I am in between 3 programs!

I can choose between the MiM at HEC Paris, the ETD at Emlyon and LMU MUnich and ESCP Europe.

What are your thoughts?

From what I've heard, the Emlyon program is by far the hardest because you have double the courses (way more classes (compulsory) per week). I've heard that the profs are amazing because a lot of them come from German Industry leaders and LMU is probably the best German public school in terms of research and networking.

Then again, HEC is seen as the best in France. Here I could do the most networking, while having less courses. Apparently, it is not that hard (heard from a student), whih bothers me a bit, since I was told some of the courses in Lyon are really challenging mostly due to the German side.

The third option is ESCP which in my opinion is the worst from renommee and rankings, but you can choose from different campuses. Do you know anything about it?

For the moment I am tempted to go to Lyon, because it seems to be the most challenging program and it builds bridges between Germany and France, but HEC and ESCP don't sound bad either.

Any tips?

Start from your goals. Your assessment of the programmes is accurate. Also consider that the students will be different, demographically. If you want to marry royalty, then ESCP...

PS I lectured to MSc students at LUMS this month. They are great.

In Paris ESCP is very similar to HEC, but of course HEC is more sporty and suburban while ESCP is more metropolitain. But the other campuses seem very classy. I visited their London campus, and it was very classy. The Berlin campus also has that reputation.

The ESCP Paris campus was charming but quite small. The canteen is better than most you can find at a Brit University. I was taking courses for a few weeks in the summer 2 years ago and it was a lot of fun to be back at University.

Paris Dauphine campus is a bit out of the way and there is not much around the area.

The French are serious about food for lunch they would look for hot food in a proper restaurant, in England, most people just grab a sandwich, a pack of crisp and a coke.
