You can read the admissions requirements and recruiters on the websites of the different schools. MSc in international business is aimed at students returning to their home country.

as i can't afford MBA's tuition fees from one of the best schools plus cost of living

i already applied for Msc in marketing in the following schools:
-cass
-strathclyde
-lancaster
-bath

could u rank these schools for me according to their marketing department's power?
also what about job opportunities for students graduated from Msc in marketing comparing with those graduated from Msc in management (and according to my profile)?

Cass has an MSc in marketing? That is a surprise; I thought it only had a MSC in management with some marketing electives. Lancaster and Strathclyde are certainly the best. Take a look at http://www.best-masters.com/ranking-master-marketing-in-western-europe.html

Yes. A good qualification will help.

No. It's not easy. It's a lot of hard work to find a good job.

I think the realities of the labour market are more or less the same. I don't see any prospects of a major change in the objective situation. However, outcomes are improving because schools and students are working better together. Because large businesses are limited by quotas of how many people they can hire, traditional 'milkround' techniques are not so effective at placing non-EU MBAs into roles. They need to hunt for work in the same way as European professionals now: by proactive approaches, networking, pitching in projects and consulting opportunities and generally using more personalised ways of approaching employers with win-win solutions. That is producing improved outcomes. I think Oxford, Cambridge, Warwick, Durham and Edinburgh are doing well and, if the recent FT MiM ranking is a guide, it looks like Strathclyde and Bradford are struggling. I think the shift is especially difficult for students from India, where placement works so very differently, and where it's so hard to strike the balance right between being too retiring and being too forceful when networking.

dear duncan,

now for strathclyde business school after a lot of negotiation with them and i told them that i can't afford the tuition fees plus cost of living for MBA programm , so they send me this message:

"
Hi Osama,

Thanks for this - I think we'll stick with either the MSc in Marketing or the MSc in Business and Management programme,

as these would appear to be most suited to your background and qualifications.

Which one you choose depends upon which route you want to go down following graduation,

if you're looking for an all round management degree then I would go for the MSc in Business Management.

However, if you want to specialise in Marketing, then the MSc is Marketing is the one for you.

As soon as we hear from you, we'll issue an offer for your chosen course."

that means that they will issue MSc in marketing or MSc in Business and Management for me ,and this depends on my choice

so plz plz i need ur help for that

what do u think more suitable for me (according to my cv which i mentioned to u above) :
MSc in Marketing or the MSc in Business and Management programme ???

which program that has more employability and makes me more attractive for big companies???

Hi, I have just gone through the entire discussion you have had with Duncan and I certainly agree with Duncan that doing an MBA would have been a better option for you. But I do understand your financial constraints. As far as MSc in Marketing is concerned I believe Strathclyde has strong industrial links and alumni network in the sector. You can check out the department's page on linkedin which will help you decide better. Please follow the link http://www.strath.ac.uk/marketing/ouralumni/

I would recommend the MBM over the MSc in marketing because you don't have a degree in business already. The MBM has an useful MBA pathway, and is more flexible. You could take electives in marketing and do a marketing project at the end of the programme.

Yes, I think it's reasonable to assume that your salary will be closer to that of other MSc students than to that of MBA students.
