I'm a Columbia MBA grad (2001) who took courses in Entrepreneurship and Retailing. The key is to look for schools with successful graduates in retailing and apparel. In addition to those you mentioned, other notable schools would be INSEAD, Berkeley and Kellogg. I did an MBA internship at Gap Inc in San Francisco and the following schools were represented: Columbia (2), Harvard (1), Kellogg (1), Berkeley (1), Wharton (1), Stanford (1). There were also students from Indiana University, Carnegie Mellon, Cornell, and (Philadelphia's) University of the Arts, but all of them had pre-MBA retail experience. The luxury retailers certainly recruited at Columbia and Columbia has a very strong Entrepreneurship program with lots of school and alumni network support (financial and otherwise). I recommend Columbia.

Thank you for your reply. Columbia has an amazing program! Did most of your peers apply early decision?

Seriously, if you're looking at luxury apparel management, you might want to look abroad. Check out schools in fashion centers like Paris and Milan. Here are a few schools to get you started:

HEC Paris
SDA Bocconi
International University of Monaco

Maybe even programs in the east... Tsinghua, I believe has a partnership with HEC...

Thanks Ralph!

I applied to NYU which has a partnership with HEC.

I am very interested in the Master in Fashion, Experience & Design Management at SDA Bocconi. Do you know much about this program? Is it the best amongst its peers?

Also, do you mind sharing with me which program you attended and your career path?

Thanks again!
