ESADE vs IE, Masters in Marketing

andresm

Dear friends from find MBA forum.

I was recently as accepted both in ESADE's new Ex. Master in Marketing and sales and IE Master in Corporate & Marketing Communication (from human science and technology school). Having kind of a hard time deciding between both programs.

A little something about me and the priorities I have:
- Im a regional department manager from a multinational focused in animal feed industry, currently based in Latin America.
- Will definitely do the program while working. Both have a 50/50 combination of in site and distance learning (Esade in Colombia, Barcelona and Singapur while IE in Spain).
- As my experience has been a little more related to the back office, Im looking for a program that can complement the business understanding I already possess and launch me to more of a strategic role. framing the route to market for any of the businesses Im related to.
- Looking for a good brand name that can help the launching process. Don't have too much knowledge on the brand perception between both institutes, even less idea of which one is better in the mentioned subject.
- I already have an MBA, and this program will be covered by the company I work at. So Im taking advantage of the opportunity.

Thank you in advance for the help and will be looking forward for your reply

The IE programme sounds like a better fit for someone without a background in marketing, while the Esade-Bocconi EMMS is aimed at established marketing and sales professionals looking to deepen the connection between sales and marketing.

Thank you for your reply Duncan. Regarding both institutes strengths and brand perception?

- Is one of them particularly specialized in the mentioned subject? is one of them better considered for marketing / strategy?
- Regarding reputation between both IE and ESADE, could be valued as the same?

Most likely I won't be living in Europe.

ESADE and Bocconi are certainly the credible partners there: the degree there is taught in business schools. IE is really strong for entrepreneurship and, as a for-profit school, is a a little edgy. ESADE and Bocconi will be the better options academically. I would say that's a much better choice and, of course, that is reflected by the pricing.

Thank you for your input Stuart.

- Regarding reputation between both IE and ESADE, could be valued as the same? for some reason I've received feedback that IE apparently has a better name recognition in Latam. Also Ive been told about the networking is exceptional.
