Does Harvard Business School require Work experience ?

Sabarish

I graduated in 2020 in Tech field, I have currently <1 year work experience in Software Development field, I wish to apply for Harvard Full Time MBA , I am concerned about the lack of managerial experience I possess, would that be an issue in the evaluation ?

My Academic records are not significant and I have not done many leadership activities in my college.

How would you suggest me to proceed ?

Personal Details
Age : 23
Role : Software Development Engineer

Harvard does accept some outstanding candidates with proven leadership potential and limited work experience. These are typically through the 2+2 program: https://www.hbs.edu/mba/admissions/application-process/college-students-2-2/Pages/default.aspx Typicially, Harvard MBAs have around 5 years of work experience.

PS You don't sound like the sort of person who would be admitted to the HBS MBA 2+2. I suggest you think about your goals. There are other schools, and there are degrees aimed at people with less work experience. If you are aiming for a top MBA, then you will need a strong personal mission with a social benefit, and a lot of leadership experience.
