I would like to get into strategy consulting after doing an MBA.
My question is, do I need to do a concentration in consulting if I want to get a job in the field? I've noticed that some MBA programs don't even offer concentrations.
Thanks,
Matt

No, it's more important to attend one of the four or five schools that the firms you are interested in. Take a look at How to use LinkedIn to find the best school www.find-mba.com/board/33571 Imagine, for example, if you wanted to be with McKinsey, Bain or BCG in California then that would mean Berkeley, Harvard, Kellogg, UCLA, or Wharton.

And in terms of curriculum, most of these MBA programs will provide adequate strategy courses in the first year, which you'll probably need in a consulting firm. If not, you can pick up some strategy courses in your second year.
