I've read here and elsewhere that in Germany, employers "don't know what to do" with an MBA, or something along those lines. Are MBAs graduates in Germany not really sought after or is it a bit of a myth? Would an MBA help as a career pivot or is it a waste of time here?

The key factors here are: the quality of the MBA programme; the employability of the student; and their ability to work in German. Outcomes are good for people with strong qualities, and excellent for those with three. Look at the average salaries in the FT MBA, EMBA, MiM and MiF rankings

The industry can also prove to be an important factor. Germany is known for its strong industrial base, particularly in engineering, automotive, and manufacturing. An MBA can be very valuable for careers in these sectors. But as Duncan suggests, it's a good idea to look at the average or median salaries and the employability rates by industry.
