MBA in Germany, Frankfurt/Mannheim

Hi,

Anybody applying for the MBA programs at Frankfurt and Mannheim to start in fall 2016?

I am!

The Mannheim application is not open yet but I've already started the Frankfurt one.

I have been taking German classes for the past year and will continue until next September. Hopefully by then I will have a good grasp of the language so that I can network and try to find a job during the MBA.

Hello Guys,

Consider me in the same wagon.

I am also planning to get into one of German MBA Schools in 2016.

However, could it be possible for anyone to throw some light on the job prospects post MBA. Specially for a non-European, more specifically Indian.

As its more of technical market, are particular specialization favored ? etc.

Thanks and due Regards.

It really depends. One important thing to consider is whether or not you speak German. If, when you exit the program, you don't have a professional command of the language, your work options will be very limited.

I don't think there's any "favored" specialization, but your career goals will determine what you should study in order to maximize your chances of getting the best job you can. And as far as I know, neither Mannheim nor Frankfurt offer specialization options anyway.

Has anybody heard about when the Mannheim MBA applications will open? It says on the site that it's October 2015, but it's getting towards the end of the month with no additional information.

Also consider using LinkedIn to look at where the MBAs from these schools ended up, and if these kinds of roles match up with your expectations.

Also, as has been referred to further up in this thread, German language skills will be essential if you're looking to work in the country after graduation.

Hi, I also intend to take Frankfurt MBA next year. I've done with the applications; still have GMAT test to go :(( still struggling for this. Also, I consider HHL as well. Have you taken GMAT exam?

Hi!!! I'm thinking about applying to HHL, WHU, EBS, and possibly Mannheim. I am also studying for the GMAT right now.
Has anyone been to any campus yet or been able to contact any recruiter or alumn?
I have been able to get in contact with HHL but all the other schools seem much harder to talk to. Does anyone know whether consulting firms do active recruiting in any of those schools?
And if anyone has been to campus, did you get any specific "vibe" from those schools? Is the spirit they portray accurate?

Can't speak to your question about student life/vibe, but in terms of consulting firms, the MBB firms don't traditionally recruit a lot of MBAs from these schools, instead opting to snatch Insead and LBS students up instead -- even for work in Germany. But if you're targeting the AT Kearney/Accenture tier, that may be a possibility. Check out LinkedIn and search for grads of the schools and where they ended up.

Hi Folks,
Just to give you the idea, WHU, HHL, ESMT, all these colleges have different deadlines and different start dates so plan accordingly. WHU starts in April and deadline is 15 Dec for international students, ESMT starts in January and might be full for 2016 intake. HHL starts in september and is taking the applications currently.

It's very clever, isn't it, of them to have start dates so evenly spaced apart?

Any review on the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management ?
I have planned for HHL, Frankfurt and ESMT . Are there any other good schools offering 15 months or above MBA course in Germany which I should consider.
