HHL or ESMT MBA

Hi!
1. I'm from IT background professionally with 5years of Work-ex but do have some Digital Marketing freelancing exposure and wish to transition to the same industry. Would a 12 month MBA from ESMT (Jan-Dec 19) be helpful in doing the same than upto a 21 month MBA from HHL with a 3-6 months internship option?
2. I've taken German language classes upto A2 though Listening isn't that good as of now.
2. Fee-wise ESMT is on higher side than HHL.

Which one should I go with ? I need to make an early decision.

HHL will give you more time to learn German, and in Berlin you'll spend more time speaking English than German. HHL is much more a digital and startup school. ESMT feels more big brand and corporate.

Thanks for the response, Duncan! So going by my goals and aspirations, HHL should be a better fit as I could have more flexibility to intern and make a career to a different industry. Isn't it?

I do wonder, surely a role like digital strategist will require really excellent German. Have you seen other foreigners use an MBA to transition into these roles in Germany?

Haven't encountered any, but the role and the field quite interests me. Even my professional work experience has some experience related to Digital and Analytics. In the long run, I'd want to start a venture of my own. Perhaps, I could get more time to polish my Language skills at HHL over the time.

I think you need to speak to people in that role and see if foreigners can get into it.

There might be roles like this in internationally-oriented startups but in terms of the broader workforce, most of these kinds of jobs will require German skills. You can polish your language skills during the MBA but you will not have enough time to gain fluency.
