Hello Madan,
My application was returned today with a note that I have not take Toefl and it can not be processed without it. Even though i had attached the waiver letter from the university. Have you taken the Toefl too? If not which consulate did you apply from?
Cheers,
Varun

Hello Prakash,
Congratulations!!! Well for me the Visa process was little hectic. I guess it all depends upon where you are applying for the visa as to me it seems that visa process is different in every consulate. So please contact your nearest consulate and ask for the documentation they need for processing the visa. I was told to write the TOEFL even though I got the waiver letter from the university and also I was told to show them the proof of "Blocked account" in Germany with 7657 Euroes in it. You can open a blocked account from Deutsche Bank in Gernamy. So please check with your local consulate. I applied in Delhi.

Varun

Ok great. If you are also applying in Delhi then you do not have to take Toefl but you surely will need the block account and yes you have to deposit 7657 Euros in it unless you have some scholarship. So I will suggest you to write to the following email Id "[email protected]" and ask for the forms. You need to fill these forms and get it attested from the delhi embassy (you do not need any appointment for this but it is open only from 8:30 to 12 p.m) and they will charge you INR 1120. Also do not forget to carry your passport. After you get it attested you need to courier those forms to DB hamburg student office (address of which you will get in the e-mail along with the forms) . Opening the blocked account takes a week so I will suggest you to do it asap as without that consulate is not accepting application this year.
If you have any further question please feel free to write.

Hello Prakash,
Dont mention it. I am on FB. Check Goethe Business school group and there you will find me and lot of other students who are currently studying in GBS. Regarding 1000 euros I am not sure if it is payable by credit card you need to check with college. I did it from the bank. You can go to any bank that deal in forex and there you will find the facility to remit the amount. Visa forms you can get it online from the following site

Hello Madan,
Congrats!!! So how long did it take for you to get the visa processed? I am still not able to apply for my Visa as Delhi consulate requires the Blocked account for the visa processing and I have applied for my Blocked Account in Germany.

Hi varun,
It took almost 3 weeks .... Mumbai Consulate did not ask me to block the account, they asked me to get a DD of about 7800 euros.
All the best ....I'm sure you'll get the visa very soon

Dear all,
Great to see you here! My name is Jovi and I will also be joining the FT MBA class of 2011. :) I am an Indian and have been living in Frankfurt for the past one year. Before that I was working as an IT consultant in Bangalore( pretty much the same background like most of you guys i guess).
I came to Frankfurt on a spouse visa issued from the Chennai Consulate. So my process was different (nevertheless, tedious). However, it's still worth the pain because Frankfurt is a great place to be. I am sure you all will enjoy it here.
Hope to see you in September and good luck with your visa applications.
Cheers,
Jovi

Hey everyone
My name is Gaurav, from Delhi. Although I am not going to join the FT MBA, nevertheless I am going to the same Uni as you guys are, for MS prog in Oct 2010.
I am writing here because I thought we can share some information and I might be able to use some info from the work you guys already done about Visa and accommodation.
I will begin with the visa app once I have the block account done. One thing I am most worried about is housing. Please share any info you might have regarding housing et al.
