Berlin School of Economics and Law vs. Frankfurt School of Finance & Management (Full-time MBA)

dalsok

I have received an offer of admission from both Berlin School of Economics and Law and Frankfurt School of Finance & Management into their MBA program. However, I am not able to choose between them. As I have read before both schools have good reputation and even though the MBA program in FS is new but the school itself have a very good reputation in Frankfurt. On the other hand, HWR is a well known school in Berlin.

Could anyone please shed some light on both schools and help me to choose?

These schools are not really comparable. As a city state-funded Hochschule, HWR is underfunded and is in a city with half the GDP of the big west German cities. Very few of the state-funded Hochschulen can be called excellent: http://www.eduniversal-ranking.com/business-school-university-ranking-in-germany.html

The HfB in Frankfurt is a well-funded private Hochschule with especially strong connections to the banking and healthcare industries. That's an excellent school.

Thank you Duncan. I second your comment. I actually choose FS but my major concern was the newness of the program.

Hello,

5 years later, I wonder if there is any change in the assessment of HWR vs FS?
Has HWR moved up the ranks to being comparable with FS?

Quite the opposite. The Frankfurt School is improving fast, and widening the gap.
