Hey, I would like to explore opportunities for MBA in New Zealand.
I have little work experience(more like internships of combined duration of 7.5 months).
I noticed the Otago accepts graduates without experience, is that true??...sounds to good to be true.
Are they any other options for a graduate without experience??
Thank you.

Hi there, my best advice when considering The Otago MBA would be to check out their website www.otagomba.com. Their admissions process is really simple; all you have to do is send through an email with your CV attached to their Recruitment Manager Sarah Bell and she will help you through the rest; indeed sometimes they do allow participants with minimal work experience; it's all about what you can offer the programme.
Best of luck,

Hi there...would like to know if there are any scholarships/fundings available, which might aid me in financing my mba...

Hi Manny,
The Otago MBA are very eager to encourage diversity into their class room, and because of this they work closely with NZAID and are happy to assist candidate wherever possible to source funding. Below is some additional information.
NZAID
Education is of critical importance to NZAID?s aim of achieving a safe and just world free of poverty. As part of its education strategy, NZAID provides scholarships to citizens? of some developing countries to undertake tertiary level study in New Zealand.
General Scholarships
To assist in studying in New Zealand the University of Otago has a very strong relationship with BreakOut, New Zealand?s primary source of funding information for students. BreakOut holds details of over 2,200 funding schemes. It provides a searchable database that will give you the best matches of scholarships, awards and grants you are eligible for in terms of criteria, level of study and discipline along with closing dates, application requirements and contact details.
Additionally, there are scholarships available through the QS World MBA Tour (if you met them at one of these events) and the New Zealand Vice Chancellor?s Committee (NZVCC) for more information follow the links to their websites.
Good Luck

One the important things people are easy to forget is that the Otago MBA fosters the spirit of entrepreneur. Being a small country, and a small city, this spirit is more important and become a unique asset for the Otago MBA to be successful. One the best example is Graeme Hart, the world top 101 richest business man. A Kiwi Otago MBA who talk less but do loudly?
RICH PICKINGS: The richest ANZAC ->
Hart Beats the Aussies ->

Hello People,
Thank you for all the information provided on Otago Univ. After reading through all the posts, am, seriously considering my application to Otago Univ. Thank you Manny for the link.
I also wanted to know, which of the universities are better AUT / UoA or Victoria Univ. I, gathered info about all the univs. and found out that UoA does not have a full time MBA program for international students. Further, Victoria batch for 2010 is over. Accordingly, my first choice came to AUT, which offers 6 intakes in a year and the electives are diversified, which suits my needs. What i wanted to ask, is AUT a good univ.?, in terms of job placement and industry relations. Ranking status of AUT is low compared to UoA: what difference would it make in getting a placement and subsequent settlement. As of now i am planning for the oct 2010 intake of AUT. I, am from India and currently resident at Dubai and i am from aviation sector.

Hi Guys,
How is the university's attitude towards providing scholarships. Have you or do you know anyone who has been admitted there with some scholarship.

I know that they have merit-based "Dean" scholarships that are fairly competitive - but can provide up to $20k NZD. The generally require you to score at least 650 on your GMAT and/or an "A" undergraduate GPA average.
Other than that, they have specialized funds for women and students with families, among some others - although if you get one of these grants, you'd be ineligible for the Dean scholarships.
Check with the school for more info.
