After BBA

Peter Rax

Hello everyone.

I've done bachelors in business administration (In HR), and I'm looking to add some more value to my background because my bachelors degree is from some other country. I'm currently in the west right now (canada), so I am looking for some advice.

Note: I'm interested in doing some post graduate certificate or something like that - not an MBA because it's too expensive + time consuming.

If you have any ideas, please let me know. I am interested in something related to business, HR, etc.

Edit: Btw there's no problem for me to work in Canada because I'm a naturalized citizen (saying this just in case someone thinks I'm a foreigner with no work permit).

Hopefully you are naturalised rather than neutralised.

Sorry I meant naturalised. I was typing this on phone, and a bit too fast.

A qualification that isn't time consuming or expensive is unlikely to add much to your resume. One option would be a professional qualification, like from the SHRM or CPD or an accounting qualification. Another strong option would be a language qualification in French, which is desired by many Canadian employers.

Hmmm I see, interesting. Thank you for your response
I had someone telling me to go for the post graduate certificate program in business administration. What are your thoughts on that? Would it add value to my "background"?

Because a postgraduate certificate in business administration would duplicate content in your BBA, I think it would be less valuable than a programme where you learnt something new.

Don't know about the USA work authorization process, is it easy for Canadians to get it?
