Hello, Everyone
I'm currently a Senior at St. John's University earning my BS degree in Finance. I'm seeking to apply to SUNY Oswego's MBA program for Fall 09' or Spring 10'.
My GPA is currently 2.3. I've gained work experience at Commerce Bank for whom I worked 2 years during my collage career. Prior and post Commerce Bank I held several general (odd-jobs) part-time positions.
It is stated on SUNY Oswego's website that:
"A program participant must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. Applicants to the program should have a minimum of a 2.6/4.0 undergraduate G.P.A. and a minimum score of 470 on the Graduate
Management Aptitude Test (GMAT)."
Would I have any chance of getting into this MBA program?
I know that it isn't a top program but I've actually been interested in this school since High School. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.
I figured I'd do my best to keep my grades up until I graduate and score as high as possible on the GMAT. In addition, I was thinking about taking a trip to the school and speaking with the Dean or an adviser. I'm not sure if that is a good idea or not.
Thanks
James H.
