Rotman vs CMU/UCLA

Nalin

Hello,

I wanted to know your opinion on Rotman school of management - Toronto. I have been accepted into the program.

I am waiting for results from Tepper and UCLA.
As far as I understand these 3 colleges are comparable and one is not better than other as such. The only differentiating factor could be location of the school.

Thanks,
Nalin

I am in tech industry and want to come back to it after MBA as a technology consultant. My experience says that Tepper has the best tech program, and UCLA has the advantage of being in california. But what about Rotman when compared to these 2 schools in tech program?

Thanks for reply.

Especially for international students: those who don't have work visas in either country should go to school in the country where they want to work. If you did your MBA in Canada and did not already have authorization to work in the States, you will probably be out of luck.

I understand the work visa issues. I am open to work in Canada and so in US. Having said that I realize that Canada has better immigration policy than US.

My question was about comparing Rotman with CMU/UCLA. How would you rate Rotman against CMU and UCLA in tech field opportunities?

Tepper looks quite tech-focused, both in its concentrations, and the fact that 57% of the 2013 cohort has a Science and Engineering undergraduate degree.

Its admissions page even encourages non-techies to apply to its MBA program, despite this reputation.

Indeed, and Tepper also has a "technology leadership" MBA track, which has some interesting curriculum based on aspects like electronic privacy, mobile services, and software development. This track requires an undergrad degree, or background, in a tech field.
