Post graduate Diploma in business

SGS

Hi All ,

Myself having 14 years of experience in IT and now currently working as project manager and would like to move up in the corporate ladder in management or sales roles .

I am looking for a post graduate diploma program in business management topics egBusiness analytics, General management etc in London and in part time mode as I can’t afford to leave my job at this moment.

Any recommendations please ?

Also will QML MBA can be an option for me ? I am bit skeptical as it doesn’t have any of the 3 accredition .

For management, pick one of the EMBA courses in the FT ranking. Which of them has the best network in your industry, if you want to stay in IT?

The diploma is not a well understood qualification in the UK. Depending on your goals, an MBA, MSc or a professional qualification could be the right way forward. What qualifications are held by people in the roles you want to have? Review 20 or 30 profiles in LinkedIn to see the pattern.

This depends on your goals. Those diplomas are not exclusively "postgraduate" since anyone with work experience is admitted. They are executive education attendance certificates, not academic qualifications with the extent of a typical PgDip (two thirds of a full master's). You don't you need a degree to attend them, although it is an entry qualification for the Saïd EMBA. You do not matriculate as a student or become an alumnus of the university itself. It is also well over your budget, at £27,000 for just four courses. The Maryland Micromasters is a fuller qualification, with the whole core of a top MBA, for a fraction of the price.

Focus on your goals and see which qualifications are really held by people in the roles you are targeting. The OU MBA is a triple crown MBA, for example.

I think it's helpful to point out the Said diplomas are not MBAs. Each of them is four modules; the Said MBA is 14 core models and 7 selective, so the diploma is around 20% of the MBA. IT's broadly similar to the LSE graduate diploma in management, which is less than 10% of the cost.

Any accredited MBA will help your progression. The task for you is to work out which schools are best-represented in the sector you want to focus on, and for you to understand why such a limited budget is so self-limiting.

If you want a triple-crown UK MBA, part-time, for under £20,000 then your choices are limited to distance learning: Strathclyde is strong and the Open University has great recognition in IT. I think they are both more respected than MMU.

If you are in the UK and can start in January then you also have the last found of MBA and MSc apprenticeships. The government pays 100% or 95% of first 18000 degree, and you or your firm pay the rest. Many options are exactly 18k.

Use a search engine and type in Senior Leader Degree Apprenticeship

Manchester, the OU, Cranfield, Ashridge and Henley are probably the leading options

This is exactly why the funding is ending. Please use Google to research a little rather than asking questions like this.
