Hello all,
I find myself in a dilemma right now. My plan is to pursue my MSc from UK in Business Information Management. I have applied to 8 Universities and have received response from 7 of them. Below I'm listing the univ. name & courses:
1) Warwick: ISM- Unconditional
2) Lancaster: ITMOC- Unconditional
3) Strathclyde: BITS- Unconditional
4) St Andrews: Mang. & Info. Technology- Unconditional
5) King's London: Computing, IT Law & Mang- Unconditional
6) Southampton: Knowlegde Info. Manag. Systems- Uncond
7) Manchester: Information Systems- Reject
8) City University London: BSAD- Pending
My preference is towards Lancaster ITMOC as the course structure is the best I have seen among the lot but the location is a concern. I also have an inclination towards Warwick because of the phenomenal reputation which it carries but the course structure is a little less appealing than the Lancaster one. King's has it location advantage & reputation but I came to know that the computing dept is not strong. St Andrews & Strath makes me think about lack of job prospects in Scotland.
I will be highly obliged if you ppl can pour in your suggestions and help me decide with the course selection.

I'd say you're on the right track, Warwick, Lancaster, and Strathclyde are all good programs.
Just curious - why an MSc and not an MBA? Job prospects with an MBA are much better than with an MSc.

Hi Ralph,
Thanks for the reply. Why I chose MSc over MBA? It's because the experience(3yrs) I have in IT Industry, is completely technical. I suppose for an MBA one needs 4/5yrs of management experience, right? So, I thought by doing an MSc I could leverage my technical expertise and transform it into technical analyst or consulting related field.
I would be happy if you can comment on it.

Hi Sreejith. I would like to congratulate you for getting unconditional offers from top brands. As per my knowledge and experience, I would recommend you either opt for Southampton or Warwick University. The reason I suggest these is because both of them are not too far from london and they also have very high placement records. I would prefer Southampton amongst the two because its ranked in top 3 for technical education.
