MBA OR MSC

Hello there,

I am from China. i have over 10 years work experences in commercial real estate industry, mainly focus on shopping centre management, all kinds of leasing and operating issues. currently I work in a big land developer enterprise, leading the retail department. initially , i applied for the MCS program in specialty of real estate& finance for Reading , Aberdeen ,and "Finance and Mangement" in Strathclyde and Sheffield. but i was declined by Reading and Sheffield due to my poor Average Mark. and then, strathclyde adviced me to change to MBA program in consideration of my age, working experience and backgroud.

My goal is that try to find a job and work in the UK for one or two years after graduate, and then i will back to China. by then, i hope i can find a proper position in Real estate fund company.

Two schools. Aberdeen is exactly the field i want to focus on Real estate and finance. and MBA can enhance my comprehensive management ability.

My question is whether i should change to MBA ?, if so, is there other MBA program for me?

thank you in advance.

This depends on your goals. The Aberdeen program is very well designed and has a strong faculty. The Strathclyde MBA has a much more senior cohort preparing for general management. Which fits your career plan?
I would ask Henley if a supplementary qualification would help you fill the gap. Maybe there is an online course you can take to show your potential more clearly? The weather in Reading is so much nicer than in Aberdeen!

thank you for your input, very helpful.  Actually, Henley is my first choice. unfortunately, my application for Real estate & finance was declined. then,do you think i have a chance to apply for the MBA program?  by the way, what about the online course you mentioned? I mean, does it involve some guidelines or suggestions to help me clear my goals?

Many thanks, i will take it into account seriously. in fact,  I have got both bachlor and master degree in a National Key University , China. I'd like to know if i failed before due to the bad average mark during university, can i make up for this with my work experience in large company( CBRE, Cushman&wakefield, Socam group, Sinoocean group
).  so could I apply the MBA program of Henley instead? is it worth to give it a try?  Thank you very much for your kindly answer.
