Hi,

Neither LJMU or Stirling are in the top 100 MBA schools as ranked by the Financial Times:

However, this doesnt mean that they arent good schools. It very much depends on your chosen area of specialisation and the specifics of the programmes. I would look at their entries here, then consider exactly what you want from your MBA.

As Stirling's departmental website stresses, The Master of Business Administration modules at Stirling University are taught by business related academic departments, including the Departments of Accounting, Finance & Law, Economics, Marketing, and Management . This could be an advantage, as they will be able to draw on already established academics and research.

Striling is particularly strong in corporate finance, international marketing, strategic management, accountancy, business economics, e-commerce, quality management and information systems management, Stirling has an international reputation in retailing management, public service management, business venture management and human resource management.

While LJMU School of Management has been running a successful MBA programme for over 14 years. In 2005 the school made some changes to the MBA structure giving students with less than three years? managerial work experience, the opportunity to attain this award. This is a new programme started in September 2005 and has been a resounding success, designed for younger graduates with little or no relevant work experience.

The MBA consists of 120 taught credits and a 60-credit dissertation. Their programme specialises in: Human Resource Management
Marketing
Finance
Business Information Systems
Management

with the option to go on to specialise in international management, international business and trade, and strategic management.

Hope that helps.

Maybe someone with first hand experience of either could respond with some of their experiences?
