I will possibly have the option of studying for an MBA funded by my work. I currently work as an FD for a charity working in social care, and whilst I have no intention of leaving the organisation in the next few years, I wouldn’t necessarily envisage being there or in the sector for the remaining 25+ years of my career.
As such I am weighing up what courses might be a best ‘general’ MBA. I don’t think I’d especially want to be looking at things that had a particular social care or charity focus, thinking to the future. Similarly I don’t really have any strong views at this time about where I might eventually want to work so looking at courses others in those organisations have attended is not particularly feasible.
Because of the sector I’m in, budget is a factor. If the funding is still available then an apprenticeship degree might be a good option (we are currently under the apprenticeship levy amount which seems to rule out Manchester as their website states it is only for those paying in to the levy).
Outside of that I’ve been giving consideration to Distance or blended courses at places such as Durham, the OU, Illinois, and other places in that price bracket.
I am very much open to suggestions, even non MBA ones, but I guess it is really a case of which MBA would have the broadest appeal as far as possible. Any advice would be most appreciated.

You are misreading the levy requirements. Give them a call. If you are not contributing you will normally pay just 5%

Thank you. Most of their website says as you say and that is also my understanding but the wording on the Global MBA page says “The Global MBA Senior Leader Master’s Degree Apprenticeship is currently available only for employees of organisations who are paying into the levy.”.
As you say, that could be clarified with a call.
I had broadly discounted that as an option due to that. Would that be a better option than the ones mentioned previously if possible?
I am also ACA qualified if that makes any bearing at all.
