Hi. Does anyone know about a forthcoming event being held in Dubai by UCLA-NUS to publicise their EMBA? I hear good things about the program and would be interested in finding out more. Any info much appreciated, Thx

Hi again. I've got some info on this now for anyone who's interested. There's a presentation by the two schools taking place on 24th November in Dubai. There's also a bunch of other dates around Asia, Europe and the US. Here's a link:

I just read an article in the Wall Street Journal (I think,) about westerners "globe hopping" for their MBAs... Pretty interesting. I'm applying for programs here in the States but have considered Dubai. Do you know what it's like for Americans there?

I am not sure what you mean in "What is like for Americans there", but if you need some info about being a foreigner in Dubai you should read this: http://www.shelteroffshore.com/index.php/living/cat/C70/
there are quit a few interesting articles there, especially the last one. quot: "Emiratis generally disrespect Westerners and disapprove of our way of life, and that most foreign nationals living in Dubai find the local male citizens to be offensive, with one taxi driver cited as saying: ?they are arrogant scum.?"
now, this doesn't sound very inviting..... this article(Linked there) is also pretty harsh: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/middle_east/article6716543.ece
but be sure to read also the talk-backs on the times - some people have other opinions.

Actually, the thing that I thought was pretty interesting about the UCLA-NUS course was how international the cirriculum is. It's not Dubai-based (they just happen to be coming thru town to promote it on the 24th Nov). Instead, it comprises 6 two-week segments over 15 months, which are held in Singapore, Los Angeles, Shanghai and Bangalore. So I guess its less important where you live for a prgram like this...
