MBA for NHS senior management

bnes39

Hello,

I am currently an Ops Manager for the NHS and looking to move into senior positions in the next few years. I have 3 years experience in management and a total 6 years in the NHS. I am also an associate lecturer as well as a mentor for a few students from my alma mater. I'm looking for a distance learning MBA that could facilitate my needs to move up the ladder within the NHS but also allow me to move into another sector if I choose to. I have an offer for Bradford at this moment in time but reputation-wise it's not too favourable.

Thanks.

The NHS MBA has evolved into this programme: https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/schools/social-policy/departments/health-services-management-centre/courses/elizabeth-garett-anderson-programme.aspx That's the obvious place to start.

If you are self-funded and in the UK, I would recommend a senior leadership apprenticeship postgraduate diploma, since those are free and you only need to pay afterwards for the upgrade to an MSc or MBA. I'd look at Birmingham, Cranfield, Henley, Manchester the OU and Warwick to see if they have apprenticeships options that work for you.
