Hult Application

Mateen

Hi,

I have had few calls with the recruitment team of Hult International Business School and they are encouraging me to make an application as soon as possible to qualify for their scholarship package.

My question. Is Hult London campus good for a one year MBA program? I have read a lot of controversial reviews about Hult and how it's only in for money. Scam is a strong word since the school is triple accredited and featured in FT top 100 ranking for 2021 but is it really worth it?

Profile:
I have 8 years of full time working experience with reputable global brands in accounting, finance, audit and projects but I am yet to take the GMAT.

My post MBA goal is a career in management consulting ( strategy or M&A).

Please advice as I am an international student and post MBA placements and financing are major decision making factors for me.

Thanks.

Hult is certainly a controversial school. Most people following this board have not heard of anyone who was not offered a seat there or not offered a scholarship. It is a real school issuing legal degrees. It does not, however, place into your target careers.

Don't limit yourself to schools that approach you. Focus on the best schools for your goals.

Hi Duncan,

Thank you for the reply.

Can you please recommend good B-schools in UK which fit perfectly into my target career? And should I look at the overall rankings of the schools or narrow it down to the electives they have to offer? For example Lancaster MBA doesn't rate above say Cranfield, Manchester or WBS however its corporate strategy elective is ranked 2nd in the world which is also my interest area post MBA.

And do you recommend going to a business school with pre defined set of goals or should one decide the post MBA career as the course progresses? Because I was also interested in the City University of London (formerly Cass) MBA program because of their good reputation in finance and its overall location and connections with the corporate world. However what is your take on the recent name change controversy? Will it impact Cass' brand outreach and acceptance among employers as it was previously with the old name?

Take a look at https://find-mba.com/lists/top-business-school-by-speciality/top-business-schools-for-consulting The approach there is to see which schools place most into consultancies.

Cass _had_ to change its name and there was no serious controversy about that. The Cass name was also grumbled about, but much less than Oxford people complained about Said. No-one can doubt that City has been the only MBA in the City for 40+ years and has a very strong position.

This will have no impact on anything - I guarantee that.

That's encouraging because Cass is one of the schools I'm genuinely interested in. I just need to get a GMAT score and apply for September's 2022 session :)
