Chicago MBA Best School

Hi,

I took the GMAT and got a 620 (83% in verb, 38% in quant). I work at a fortune 500 company and completed their finance rotational program. I will have 4 years of work experience. I got a 3.9 at Iowa State University in Finance. I would love to go to Northwestern for Marketing but don't think I can get in. What is my next best option in Chicago?

Thank you!

Yes, I think that with anything lower than a 700, Kellogg is going to be a hard sell. Do you think you can get your GMAT up? Considering your high GPA is in a quantitative field, I'm a bit surprised by your quant score.

You might also look at Depaul and UIC Liautaud, but neither of these b-schools have the prestige of Kellogg and Booth...

What about a GMAT score of 690 (76% verbal, 79% quant) - do you think I could get into Kellogg? My GPA was 3.7 and I have 4.5 years of work experience in sales/marketing.

If your work experience was at a firm that Kellogg has a strong relationship with, then perhaps. But considering the 724 average at Kellogg you would need an exceptionally strong track record in those 4.5 years.

But there is a big gap between Booth and Kellogg, and then the third tier schools. Improve your GMAT or study in another city.
