A specialised MBA in sports management won't be the best MBA for sports management role.

There are some MBA's with concentrations or specializations in Sports Management (ASU I believe still has theirs). But Duncan is correct, very few sport teams actively recruit MBA students so it may not be the best way to get into athletics. I have seen a few MLB or NBA internships available, just not a commonly recruited degree to for that field.

So an MBA isn't the best way to go for working in sports? Like doing sports marketing or something? I thought that's what teams and companies normally like?

A great MBA in general management would be better than an specialised sports MBA.

What about San Diego State's Sports MBA? I'm also interested in an MBA at the University of Oregon.

If you want to return to your own country then these are good options educationally. If you are not a US resident these degrees will not lead to US jobs.

Thanks, I would return to my home country after graduation. There's no sense in staying given the H1 B situation.

If you absolutely *need* a sports-related degree, either of these would be ok. However, there's a real case to be made for doing a general MBA program at a stronger school. I'm not sure how much value a specialized degree like this would add to somebody's profile, especially outside of the US. What are your goals with the MBA?

I want to work in a management or marketing capacity in a football team in my country.

Not knowing your country, I would imagine that people in such roles probably don't have foreign MBAs. You might need to move towards such a role by developing a functional specialisation, like marketing or finance, rather than a vertical market focussed qualification.
