Nyenrode MBA

I'm strongly considering doing the Nyenrode MBA. I will be in Amsterdam for the next two years due to family obligations and would like to put the time to good use by pursuing an MBA.

Is there anybody out there who has completed this degree and can speak to its strengths and weaknesses? I've been in contact with the admissions team but it's hard to get an objective view of the school.

Thank you in advance!

Good school, very much the elite private university of the country with the social connotations.

Of the schools in Amsterdam, you basically have Nyenrode and then Amsterdam Business School. ABS has triple accreditation but in terms of network and the network's reach, I would go with Nyenrode.

That's generally speaking though - What are your goals?

Hey thanks it's much appreciated even if it's generally speaking. My goals are to learn about management in the broad sense and more specifically become a better entrepreneur / intrapreneur. I'm currently doing marketing / sales for a startup but eventually I have bigger goals of starting my own business. I hope to make the best use of the next couple of years by completing an MBA.

Maybe the joint UvA-VU MSc in entrepreneurship might be a better fit? It doesn't sound like you are looking for typical Nijenrode roles.

Dear Duncan,

Could you please share with me typical Nijenrode roles according to your thought? I'm considering apply to this school also. I've talked with several students & alumni, finding that they are very supportive.

Apart from Nyenrode, I'm also thinking about RSM, Tias & MSM. My GMAT is 690 with a background from architecture specialized in hospitality. I've worked in Vietnam for 7 years in international companies. I want to come back to VN after MBA; working in EU for a couple years also an option but still back to VN, ultimately. My most concern right now is looking for a scholarship as my financial ability isn't enough to cover both tuition fee & living expenses. If you could also give me some opinions about these schools, it would be very much helpful for me!

Thanks so much!

Honestly, I am not sure what the outcomes would be for you if, as I imagine, you don't speak Dutch and have limited work experience there.
