MBA recommendation in Europe (entrepreneurship & social/environmental development)

Hello everyone,

I would like some help and guidance regarding the best MBA options for my case.Currently I'm preparing for the GMAT considering starting in 2022 and in the process of talking to some schools and deciding on the most suitable schools for my profile and goals.

I'm Brazilian (where I currently live), female, and I have over 10 years of experience, a few at a large consulting firm and most of all working in a large corporate bank / financial services sector. In these last two years I started to plan some changes with the challenge of fulfilling some dreams and this led me to seek a change in my career and location. For that, I'm looking for an MBA that will help me in this challenge, in which my goal is to work on social/environmental development (through the creation of new businesses / solutions, whether starting my own business or in international agencies / NGOs, startups, consulting).

Considering my profile, experience and goals, I am focusing my search for European schools focused on entrepreneurship, innovation and development / social sustainability and that are good in international mobility. Within that, my main targets so far are the Netherlands and Spain (currently I am considering RSM, ESADE, IE and maybe IESE). I also researched in Switzerland, but after some conversations with alumni/recruiters, I believe the difficulties would be greater there.

Given all this, I'd like your opinion on these options (or others that I haven't considered, if any) and among them which would be the best in my case.

I look forward to receiving your feedback!

Thank you!

It sounds like Esade, but I think you need to sharpen your goals. Do you want to be a corporate employee or social entrepreneur? Develop a most likely hypothesis and start from there.

Thanks for your response, Duncan.
I certainly have the objective of becoming a social entrepreneur in the future, but I imagined that an experience in this area of socio-environmental development was necessary, or at least important, before embarking on entrepreneurship. That's why I haven't narrowed down my entrepreneurship plan until now. What do you think?
Anyway, would ESADE fit more into the business of entrepreneurship? But if I choose to go on the corporate employee side, what would be the best option?
Firstly, RSM seemed to me to be a better option for international mobility because of the opportunity to stay in the country for longer after the course, since I don't have European citizenship. Should I worry about that, in your opinion?
I appreciate your attention and comments.

I honestly don't think it's that clear cut. Esade is certainly a good choice, but so is IE. In fact, IE is listed here and ESADE is not:

Hi Duncan, sorry for the delay in replying, but thank you very much for your comments. You gave me some good insights to think about.

Hello, Raffarn

Thanks a lot for sharing some of your experience and also for this very useful article. In fact, for many reasons (location, local and school culture, classes and labs focusing on the subjects I'm targeting) that I've seen in the conversations I've had and in my research, ESADE is really at the top of my options. Besides the fact that Barcelona is wonderful (I met and fell in love) and I have no doubts that it would be easier to adapt for the reasons you've said already and maybe a few more. My doubts are actually abour the job market and local opportunities because my goal is to stay after graduation. That's why I'm quite divided between these options, as they are two schools and places that I really like and I can easily see myself in the future.
It was great to hear your testimony of a positive experience as a Brazilian too, and if you can, of course, it would be great to exchange a little more information with you.
Saludos!

[/quote]

Saludos!

I honestly don't think it's that clear cut. Esade is certainly a good choice, but so is IE. In fact, IE is listed here and ESADE is not:

Thank you, mba hipster! I was questioning myself about IE and put it on my list because I saw in my research that it also has an interesting program for what I'm looking for, but I don't see much about it.
