MBA Logistics, relocation to Europe

JP299

Hi board. I'm looking for guidance on MBAs. With two decades of experience in the Freight/Logistics sector, I am interested in relocating to western Europe. I am open to roles in Logistics, Supply Chain or Energy specialties. Preferably, I'm considering an executive program over a full-time commitment. Your insights are appreciated. Thanks

If you use that time applying for jobs or learning an additional European language, you will benefit more.

In short, you suggest that someone looking to relocate to Europe, for example, who already has experience in the market, look for a job that will finance their visa rather than invest in an MBA/master's degree in order to get a study visa and enter the market? considering that the person already speaks the language of the target country.

Yes. There are options in most countries for skilled worker visas. I would pick up that option now by applying for jobs. You want to look for roles where you can hit the ground running and where your current skills are very similar to what's needed. An MBA might over-qualify you for similar roles in Europe. If you find that you can't find work with your current experience, I still think a top logistics masters (like ZLOG or Luxembourg) or an intensive language diploma that gets you a visa might be a better fit than an MBA.

Thank you Duncan! I guess that makes sense if there's enough work for foreign applicants since then you join the market force from day one and can think about strategies with both feet already there.

I'll have a thorough look and compare between the countries I'm interested in the most.

Thanks again!
