looking for MBA in france

Violet

Hi,
Recently got accepted in to MSc Finance in EDHEC. Was wondering what is its standing in terms of reputation with employers in Europe and Asia?

The school is ranked about 5th in France and its master 11th in Europe in the last issue of F.T rankings.

EDHEC is well known for its reseach center in Asset Management (more than 8M? spent in research every year is directly financed by companies).

"Edhec is the most cited business school in the economic press in Continental Europe. Our school is the most cited business school in the world outside the US for the number of citation per author and per paper"

That's interesting - I'm curious to know where you pulled that quote from. Also, that's not necessarily a positive aspect because it may show that the school potentially spends more resources on research than teaching. You see this a lot in other types of master's programs - liberal arts specifically - where schools spread their budgets thin and commit their faculty to research.

Hi everyone!!!
I too have been looking for good b-schools in France... I was wondering how good is PSGM, Paris School Of Graduate Management? I would want to apply for the EMBA in Luxury Brand Management, well i do know that the top MBA school in that field of specialisation is Essec, but then im keeping my options open :-) , also they don't require much of work exp, which i don't have as of now. Anyway, i want to know whether it is worth(degree, brand value, fees, placements) applying for this b-school or should i work for 2-3 yrs and then try for the top notch ones like Essec? I'd appreciate if anyone could help me with this!!! :-) Thanks.

Hi there,

France has many good b-schools in which you can study good MBA.
But, there are two main schools: HEC and INSEAD. The second is well known, the first less but it is the more interisting. HEC is a medium-size school so you feel very at ease to study there. And french students are, fortunetely, not too numerous. And the network of former alumnis is very strong : each french interrnational company has an HEC in its board.

I agree. France has a couple of good MBA schools. INSEAD and HEC are the top institutions, followed by ESSEC and EM Lyon. Also ESCP, Audencia, Grenoble and Lille seem to be good choices. You find a good overview here: www.mba-channel.com

Hi,

Recently I have decided to take an MBA, but I have a question in my mind. What is the difference between an MBA from PGSM and University. In the other words, is there any difference between a business school and university? Will it treated as lower in standard?
