I guess german schools will get competitive year by year.
Manheein has already became competitive and HHL and WHU will be down the years with lods of applications from indian and chaina.
Gmat score would also increase.

I just had my second round interview with MBS. It was good and case study was discussed only for about 15 minutes. Rest we talked about future, why MBA and similar questions.

Guess results will be out by next week.

He was very cook when discussing the prospects and future and how the MBA relates to you.

If you still don't know why MBA and why HHL, please revisit that. He sounded very genuine, so my advice is be honest. If you know something say it. If not, just say no.

Some good news finally. I got an admit from MBS today. They have given me two weeks to sign and send the contract to confirm the seat.

I had my interview in Jan end for HHL. The only thing missing from my application was a transcript which reached HHL this week.

I emailed them saying I have an admit from another school (MBS) and I need to let them know in a week. Lets see if I get a decision by then. Also I have sent in an application for scholarship as well.

If I do not get a fee waiver, I am confused as where to go...

I have been admitted to HHL. Just got the email.

Need to decide between MBS and HHL now... Still waiting for the decision on scholarship application from HHL.

Congrats!!! Do you know when you will hear the results of the scholarship application? I would think that it could take a while, longer than the time frame you must pay your deposit, but I could be wrong.

I ve sent them an email asking about the timeline. If it takes longer I will have to decide between them.

But i would have choosen manheein all the way.as it is the best school in germany and going to be one of the premiar business school in europe.the selectivity batch profile and brand of mbs is superior in germany than hhl.so the money u save in scholarship in hhl would not compensate for brand of mbs.please see bloomberg business week ranking

Yes, thats true. But if I also look at entreprenuership record then HHl is one of the top in the world as well. In past 15 years HHl has supported about 130 profitable startup's. So each has its pros and cons. Thats why I am confused. But will weight all the options... :)

But if u want to return in india mbs brand might helpbu if u see the average gmat score in manheein it is 672 and selevtivity 15 % which is lower than havard or stanford.hhl selectivity is much higher and peer group in manheein is much greater.but if u are looking for entropronership it is babson all the way.hhl is also top notch but it is famous because msc student has started entropronorship that u are talking its mba ia relatively weak compared to msc

I would actually like to get in touch with the students to figure this out. A lot of people have written different things about both schools so cant rely on internet information alone.

I would like to have brief overview from a student perspective about both pros and cons I can get at HHL. Since you are attending the school already, most of the time we tend to speak all good things about it. But I would also like to know the drawbacks.

If you can touch upon some of the following that will be great:
1. Life at HHL
2. Student diversity.
3. Alumni network.
4. Have you seen any entrepreneurship activity on campus.
5. Job prospects as compared to West Germany.
6. Quality of education.
7. How are the Professors (I did talk to Prof. Velamuri and it was encouraging)
8. Social life at Leipzig.
9. Expenses at Leipzig for an average student.

Any other points you would like to highlight...!!!

I agree, If anyone is planning to come back then it really does not make much of a difference.

I however am looking to look for work initially and if possible to work on my start-up in Germany itself. Just started learning German. Hopefully by the time I join, I might do an A1 and A2, if everything goes well... :-)

And I completely agree, it was crazy and at the same time grueling to write a 3000 word essay. I think I stopped at about 2600 words. I worked for only couple of hours on 30 and 31st (last date) for the write up so not sure how it came out. My interest and inspiration comes from the fact that in place of giving away this money as tuition, I can invest in it my start-up. For me every penny saved is worth it.

As I mentioned before I have a start-up idea in mind and I am working towards it as well. So I described it, but 3000 words are too much for an idea. Also they asked about how would you implement this idea. I wrote what I could think off from a technologist standpoint but that's the whole reason I want to study business, as to connect with people, learn how can I take a product through funding and launch.

I hope something good comes out of it... Else I ll also regret putting in time to write couple of crappy pages... :-)
